Mascara and Monsters: The Best of Alice Cooper

''Mascara and Monsters: The Best of Alice Cooper'' is a compilation album by rock singer, Alice Cooper, released by Warner Archives/Rhino in 2001 in the United States only. Its worldwide companion release is ''The Definitive Alice Cooper'' compilation album, which has a slightly different tracklisting and different packaging.
This release is largely seen by fans as an updated version of Alice Cooper's 1974 compilation, ''Alice Cooper's Greatest Hits'', as all 12 remixed tracks on that release are featured here in their original Album or Single versions. The compilation is not so much a full career "best of" but more of a Singles and B-sides collection from 1970 up to 1989, ending with his last big hit, "Poison".
The album cover features Cooper in the mid-1970s looking at his mascara-eyed monstrous alter-ego.
